Barcelona vice-president Juli Guiu has resigned from his position at the club in the latest drama to hit the Catalans.
Guiu is a trusted ally of Joan Laporta and has been in charge of marketing at Barca but is now set to depart at a time when the president is in the spotlight.
A club statement reads as follows:
“FC Barcelona informs that Juli Guiu has submitted his irrevocable resignation as Vice President of the Marketing Area for personal reasons.
“The Club would like to thank Juli Guiu for his services and dedication to the institution since joining the Board of Directors in 2021, in which he has been a fundamental part of the agreements with FC Barcelona’s major partners in recent years.
