Biello will be hoping to build off the success he enjoyed during his short interim tenure this past season.
After spending three months as interim head coach, the Montreal Impact named Mauro Biello head coach and director of player personnel, handing the 43-year-old Montreal native a three-year contract.
"I'm very happy and honoured to represent this club," Biello said in a club statement released Friday. "It's great to see that the club has shown confidence in me and continues to believe in me. I'd like to thank Joey (Saputo) and the club for this opportunity and I will work as hard as possible to make this team competitive every year.
