Monterrey survive Tigres comeback, Leon thrash Morelia to reach Liga MX Semifinals

Nahuel Guzman saved two penalties but Tigres' title defense came to an end as Monterrey earned a 4-3 aggregate victory in the Clasico Regio quarterfinals.

Antonio "Turco" Mohamed's side took a comprehensive 3-1 lead in the first leg, but it took just 11 minutes for the visitors to jump in front when Jesus Dueñas headed home from a Javier Aquino cross.

Tigres then chased their way towards a second when a Israel Jimenez through ball found Andre-Pierre Gignac, who laid the ball off for Rafael Sobis to tap into an empty net.

Early in the second half, though, a penalty was awarded for a push on Rogelio Funes-Mori.
