MLS unveils 2015 roster rules

Major League Soccer has released its 2015 roster rules, including a list of players eligible for the allocation order and changes to the salary cap.

After months of mystery, MLS has pulled back the curtain and unveiled its roster rules for 2015.

Under the new regulations announced Friday, the salary cap will rise from $3.1 million to $3.49 million. The allocation order for dispersing certain players also has been streamlined, while the cap charge for designated players has risen from $387,500 to $436,250 and the maximum roster size has shrunk from 30 players to 28.
