Major League Soccer announced Friday it will fine the Galaxy $100,000 and subject its supporter management process to league oversight following “serious misconduct” during the team’s match against LAFC at the Rose Bowl on July 4.
In the second half of the game, fans in the Galaxy supporters’ section lit multiple flares, actions the league said violated safety protocols. “Supporter privileges for all LA Galaxy supporter groups, inclusive of home and away matches, are indefinitely suspended pending the completion of MLS and the LA Galaxy’s comprehensive review,” the league said in a statement.
