Miguel Herrera respects Guatemala but should be confident of a Gold Cup victory

The Mexican manager says the Central Americans are a serious threat, but that doesn't mean El Tri will struggle in Group C, writes Jon Arnold.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Since the Gold Cup era, CONCACAF has had two giants - Mexico and the United States - but those times may be coming to an end.

At least, that's what Miguel Herrera thinks, saying that his side respects opponents like Guatemala, who it faces Sunday in both teams' second Gold Cup Group B match.

"Since I've taken the spot as national team manager, I've said the distance between teams are getting smaller.
