Mexico made a great start to the 2025 Torneo del Sol after clinching first place of the group by winning all three matches. The U17 squad made their debut by crushing Seleccion Centro with a 5-0 victory before struggling to win by a 1-0 score over Seleccion Monarca. Mexico would end their group stage with a solid 5-1 victory over Chivas that gave them the ticket to the knockout stages of the competition.
Mexico came into the tournament as one of the favorites and lived up to the expectations in Group A. In their first match against Seleccion Centro, Mexico dominated from the start.
