Nicolas Castillo's late second-half goal gave Chile a 1-0 victory over Mexico in a friendly on Tuesday night.
Both sides had several opportunities to get on the scoresheet during the first 45 minutes, but solid play from Mexico's goalkeeper Hugo Gonzalez and Chilean stopper Brayan Cortez kept the match clean going into the break.
Chile had the best chance to grab a first-half goal in the 38th minute, but Gonzalez aptly deflected Junior Fernandes' close-range shot from a through ball over the middle of the pitch by Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez.
Mexico seemed poised to break the stalemate in the 73rd minute when Erick Gutierrez served Jurgen Damm on a run that left Cortez and two Chilean defenders out of position, only to see Damm's shot get blocked into the side of the net.
