Mexico and Argentina ended their Olympic preparations with a goalless draw at the Estadio Cuauhtémoc on Thursday.
The mood of the game was set early when Hirving “Chucky” Lozano was caught by a bad tackle from the Argentina defense. Lozano, who was targeted all game by the Argentine players, quickly recovered, but tempers threatened to spill over, with Victor Guzman quickly picking up a card for retaliation.
The game’s best period of the game came at the start of the second half when Carlos Salcedo appeared to have scored to give El Tri the lead, only to have the referee wave the goal off for an apparent foul on Geronimo Rulli.
