Mexico’s Friday of activity started with the youth teams, as the U-22 team earned a 0-0 draw in their friendly against Scotland in Marbella, Spain. Meanwhile, the Mexico U-20 team started their European tour with a 3-2 defeat against the Netherlands in a friendly played in Amsterdam.
With goalkeeper Sebastian Jurado starting, Mexico’s U-22 faced Scotland as they prepare for their qualification rounds for the 2020 Olympic games. According to reports from the national team’s website, Mexico had the majority of possession but the game was pretty even. Jurado got subbed off for Jose Hernandez in the second half and in the final minutes, Hernandez stopped a penalty kick given to Scotland to allow the score to remain 0-0.
