Mexico will be playing their first of two U22 friendlies against Argentina on Saturday when they face each other in Estadio Olimpico Benito Juarez in Ciudad Juarez. Both teams are going to prepare themselves for the Olympic qualifiers of their respective confederation early next year. Argentina will have to travel to Colombia, where CONMEBOL’s Olympic tournament will be held in January and February while Mexico will be hosting CONCACAF’s tournament in late March into early April, the last qualifying tournament to be held before the Olympics.
Mexico’s U22 will be coached by Jaime Lozano and will be missing many key players that are going to be in the CONCACAF Nations League with the senior team under Gerardo Martino.
