Mexico reach Hexagonal by beating Canada 2-0

The Mexico national team secured a place in the Hexagonal of the CONCACAF with a 2-0 win over Canada at the Estadio Azteca on Tuesday night.

El Tri needed just a draw to go through to the next round of World Cup qualifying as Andres Guardado and Jesus "Tecatito" Corona were both on target for Mexico to earn their fourth straight World Cup qualifying win.

Canada, who has not reached the Hexagonal since 1996, came to Mexico having been defeated 3-0 on Friday, and it was not long before Mexico were on the front foot with Marco Fabian opening the visiting side up before being pushed inside the area for a penalty.
