Oribe Peralta, Erick "Cubo" Torres, Hirving Lozano, and Alfredo Talavera headline as Mexico announced their squad for this summer's Olympic tournament in Rio de Janeiro. FC Porto goalkeeper Raul Gudino, Chivas midfielder Orbelin Pineda, and Pachuca defender Raul Lopez were left out.
The announcement came during a press conference on Thursday afternoon. The 18-man squad also includes Tigres defender Jorge Torres Nilo as one of three overage players.
Coach Raul "Potro" Gutierrez had previously hoped Andres Guardado could bring a big name to his squad, though the PSV Eindhoven captain was not given permission from his club.
