Mexico won for the first time ever a CONCACAF Nations League trophy after defeating Panama by a 2-1 score in the final. Mexico was finally able to win the tournament in their fourth try after a tough match against a Panama side that came in as the surprise of the tournament after they eliminated the United States in the final. Coach Javier Aguirre won his second tournament ever with the Mexican National team after the 2009 Gold Cup while Mexico won their first trophy since winning the 2023 Gold Cup, also in Sofi Stadium.
The 1st half started with Mexico making some changes like including Cesar Montes in the starting 11, moving Edson Alvarez to the midfield instead of Erik Lira and having Cesar Huerta up top from the start instead of Alexis Vega.
