Mexico came from a goal down in style by beating Trinidad and Tobago 3-1 on Friday to inch closer to their objective of finishing the CONCACAF Hexagonal unbeaten and in first place.
With Mexico already qualified to next year’s World Cup and Trinidad and Tobago eliminated, this was nothing more than a routine game. However, the tone was set long before the initial whistle, with fans at the Estadio Alfonso Lastras paying homage to the victims and first responders of the tragic earthquakes that struck the country a few weeks ago.
As expected, the first half was full of Mexico possession, but El Tri lacked the creativity to reap the rewards.
