Mexico announce U23 squad for Netherlands tour.

Mexico has announced a tour of the Netherlands for their U23 squad during the October FIFA break. Mexico will be playing against the Netherlands U21 team on October 10th in the City of Almelo. Mexico will then close out by facing Erevidise club side AZ Alkmaar in their training ground against a team expected to be a mixture of their U21 side and regular team players.

Coach Ricardo Cadena has released the call up list for the friendlies which is the following:

Goalkeepers: Alex Padilla (Athletic Bilbao), Fernando Tapia (Tigres)

Defenders: Jose Castillo (Chivas), Alejandro Jesus Gomez (Tijuana), Pablo Monroy (Pumas), Diego Campillo (FC Juarez), Mateo Chavez (Chivas), Ramiro Franco (Mazatlan), Eduardo Aguila (Atletico San Luis), Jorge Rodriguez (Puebla)

Midfielders: Efrain Alvarez (Tijuana), Isaias Violante (Toluca), Andres Montaño (Cruz Azul), Rodrigo Lopez (Pumas), Alberto Herrera (Puebla), Sergio Hernandez (Pachuca), Sebastian Fierro (Tigres), Victor Rios (Atlas)

Forwards: Emilio Rodriguez (Celta de Vigo), Luca Martinez Dupuy (Rosario Central), Santiago Muñoz (Santos), Ramiro Arciga (Mazatlan)

The most notable callups were the return to the U23 of Athletic Bilbao’s goalkeeper, Alex Padilla.
