Mexico announc U-23 squad for friendlies against Panama

Mexico have announced that their U-23 will return to action during the FIFA September dates with two friendly matches against Panama. After the failure of the 2024 Maurice Revello, Mexico will go to action with Coach Ricardo Cadena keeping his job even after the terrible performance in June. Mexico will be playing two friendlies against Panama, both being in Mexico City. On September 6th, they will play in the headquarters of the Mexican Football federation in Toluca while on September 10th they will play in the Centro de Alto Rendimiento (CAR).

The call up list was the following:

Goalkeepers: Fernando Tapia (Tigres), Hector Holguin (Santos)

Defenders: Omar Campos (LAFC), Ramon Juarez (America), Jose Castillo (Chivas), Pablo Monroy (Pumas), Diego Campillo (Juarez), Jorge Berlanga (Pachuca), Jorge Rodriguez (Puebla), Jesus Alejandro Gomez (Tijuana)

Midfielders: Emilio Rodriguez (Celta de Vigo), Andres Montaño (Cruz Azul), Obed Vargas (Seattle Sounders), Jordan Carrillo (Santos), Rodrigo Lopez (Pumas), Sebastian Fierro (Tigres), Alberto Herrera (Puebla), Diego Gomez (Necaxa)

Forwards: Luca Martinez Dupuy (Rosario Central), Efrain Alvarez (Tijuana), Ricardo Monreal (Necaxa), Santiago Muñoz (Santos), Heriberto Jurado (Necaxa), Ramiro Arciga (Mazatlan)

It has to be mentioned that Jorge Ruvalcaba was originally called but because of illness, he was dropped off the list for Herrera.
