Arsenal's Mesut Ozil has been named Germany's player of the year for 2015, beating Bayern Munich superstar Thomas Muller to the award.
The Guardian reported the attacking midfielder has been given the accolade after his excellent performances for the Germany national team during the year.
Ozil earned 51,000 votes, representing 45.9 per cent of Germany supporters, to take the trophy—which was won by Real Madrid's Toni Kroos last year.
The Germany national team's official Twitter feed congratulated the player on his award:
Congrats, @MesutOzil1088!
