Lionel Messi chose Luis Suarez for the 2016-17 Best FIFA Men's Player award, while eventual winner Cristiano Ronaldo picked Luka Modric to win the prize.
Ronaldo won the award in London on Tuesday — his second straight year being named Best FIFA Men's Player.
Following the ceremony, FIFA released a list of the players each voter chose for the award. The voting contingent consisted of the national team captain, the national team coach and a journalist from every territory that fields a team on the international level.
Each voter selected a player for first place, second place and third place, with the recipients getting five points for a first-place vote, three points for second place and one point for third.
