Jamaica knew it could frustrate the United States and capitalize on counterattacks, according to the veteran midfielder.
Jamaica midfielder Jobi McAnuff said reaching the CONCACAF Gold Cup final is one of the highlights of his career after the Caribbean nation stunned the U.S. national team Wednesday.
McAnuff was thrilled Jamaica was able to prove its critics wrong in the semifinal in Atlanta, with first-half goals from Darren Mattocks and Giles Barnes setting up a 2-1 victory against the tournament co-host and defending champion.
Having lost all three group matches at the Copa America in June, McAnuff conceded Winfried Schafer's team were "massive underdogs" before CONCACAF's showpiece event began.
