It’s been more than a week now and still no word about Juan Carlos Osorio’s status as Mexico national team coach. One person, however, raising his hand as a possible replacement is Matias Almeyda.
The former Chivas Guadalajara manager has long been rumored as the favorite to take over for Juan Carlos Osorio, and on Sunday, the 44-year-old took to FOX Deportes to give his first interview following Mexico’s elimination.
Among the things he discussed was interviewing for the Leeds United job, who was eventually given to fellow compatriot Marcelo Bielsa, and his desire to one day coach the Mexico National Team.
