Martinez breaks MLS single-season goal record

Josef Martinez has shattered the MLS record for most goals in a season, scoring his 28th of 2018 for Atlanta United against Orlando City.

Martinez broke into the Orlando City area, with a nice touch to take him past Jonathan Spector and flicked it past Lions goalkeeper Joe Bendik to not only re-establish his side's lead, but also put his name in the history books.

The Venezuela international had equaled Roy Lassiter, Chris Wondolowski and Bradley Wright-Phillips on 27 goals with his score the Columbus Crew in Atlanta's last game, a 3-1 win.
