Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has reportedly decided he will undergo surgery to fix a back problem that has sidelined him recently.
Diario Sport are reporting the decision was made today, with Ter Stegen set to go under the knife “in the coming days.”
It’s thought that surgery will see Ter Stegen forced out of action for around two months, meaning he’s a doubt for the first leg of Barcelona’s Champions League last 16 tie.
The goalkeeper will also miss the Spanish Super Cup and obviously a raft of La Liga fixtures too.
Back-up stopper Inaki Pena will take his place in the team for now, although the rumor mill is already suggesting Barcelona could sign a short-term stopper in January.
