Manchester City hold onto their narrow advantage and take all three points from Everton thanks to a 2-1 victory. The hosts were much more clinical after a number of wasted chances in the first half, with Jesus scoring twice in seven minutes to give Guardiola’s side an advantage and some insurance. They looked comfortable with their lead, passing it around the Everton midfield with ease and piling the pressure on Pickford’s goal, though a mistake at the other end would force a nervy final 20 minutes, as Bravo’s poor kick led to a Richarlison finish from a Calvert-Lewin cross.
