Manchester City and Real Madrid played out a goalless draw in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal at the Etihad Stadium.
Madrid will hope not to rue a string of missed chances late in the game, with City goalkeeper Joe Hart and the woodwork both thwarting their attacks.
Zinedine Zidane's side, without the injured Cristiano Ronaldo, were reserved in the first half but came out as the stronger side after the break -- but could not find a vital away goal to take back to the Bernabeu next week.
City looked far the more adventurous side in the opening exchanges, but neither side could muster a shot on goal.
