Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez has made it known that Liverpool were interested in his signature, but pulled the plug once Mohamed Salah joined from Roma in 2017.
It proved to be an astute move for the Reds, with the Egyptian winger scoring 91 goals in 144 games as the Merseysiders won the 2018/2019 Champions League title and look set to win their first Premier League title in 30 years.
The 29-year-old Mahrez, meanwhile, was on the books of Leicester City between the 2014 and 2018, making a total of 179 appearances, scoring 48 goals while providing 38 assists.
