Losing Dani Olmo in this way would be a catastrophic embarrassment for Barcelona

FC Barcelona are on the cusp of suffering a catastrophe, and the worst part is that it’s mostly self-inflicted.

To sum it up, they signed Dani Olmo in the summer and were given a temporary license for him to play, despite the club being technically over the salary limit. That’s because a long-term injury to Andreas Christensen allowed the club to discount the defender’s salary, giving them enough space under the limit for Olmo to play.

Now, with Christensen recovered, Barcelona had to figure out a way to register enough new income to qualify under La Liga’s strict salary limit for the club.
