Los Angeles Soccer Stadium Wins Approval

The Los Angeles City Council has approved plans to build a $250 million stadium for Major League Soccer’s expansion Los Angeles Football Club. The council voted, 12 to 0, to move forward with the 22,000-seat stadium on the site of the old Sports Arena next to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the University of Southern California. The Sports Arena, which was once home to the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers, will be torn down to make way for the new complex.
