The Dragons lined up with mostly reserves, but still were able to get a comfortable 2-0 victory away from home to qualify for the fourth round. Barcelona loanee Cristian Tello appeared in the game, and opened the scoring for his team with a pretty fnish.
Back in Spain, Villarreal hosted Celta Vigo in a surprising battle between early title contenders. The winner would jump into the lead surpassing Barcelona and Real Madrid.
