Liverpool have made two bids for Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira up until now, and both has been rejected. According to reports from Sky Sports, the Reds are unlikely to make a third bid for the Brazilian forward.
Ian Ayre, Liverpool’s chief executive, flew out to Florida earlier this month to hold talks with Shakhtar over a possible transfer, but the Ukrainian club proved difficult to negotiate with.
Shakhtar rejected Liverpool’s opening £24m bid for the player, as they felt it was too low to start with.
When Liverpool delegation arrived for talks, the player’s valuation was increased to a minimum £35m, but Shakhtar want any potential buyer to meet the player’s buyout clause, which is around €70m.
