According to reports from the Independent, Southampton have rejected Liverpool’s £10m bid for right back Nathaniel Clyne. The 24 year old’s contract with the South Coast club is set to expire in the summer and he has also been linked with a move to Manchester United.
The report states that Liverpool fell short in their valuation of the player. We had reported earlier in May that United had in fact bid £18m for the 24 year old who will be in much demand in the summer transfer window.
Glen Johnson’s future with Liverpool is also uncertain as the full back’s contract with the Reds is set to expire in the summer and there have been no talks over a possible extension.
