Liverpool are reportedly still hoping to sign "ambitious target" Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich in the summer despite missing out on UEFA Champions League qualification for next season.
The Reds' 3-1 defeat to Sevilla in Wednesday's UEFA Europa League final means they will not take part in any European competition in 2016-17.
But Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp reportedly remains "keen" on persuading striker Lewandowski to move to Anfield, having previously managed the prolific Pole at Borussia Dortmund, per Jack Wilson in the Daily Star.
Lewandowski is rightly regarded as one of the best strikers in the world and was the top scorer in the Bundesliga in the 2015-16 campaign, per UEFA Euro 2016:
Robert Lewandowski is the first player in 39 years to score 30 goals in a Bundesliga season.
