Bayern Munich playmaker Mario Gotze has reportedly been advised to leave the club if he wants first-team football, with Liverpool strongly linked with the Germany international.
According to Suddeutsche Zeitung (h/t Alex Richards of the Daily Mirror) the club’s next manager, Carlo Ancelotti, spoke to Gotze on the phone last week and informed him he will not be a key part of his plans for next season, suggesting “it may be best for him to leave Bayern this summer.”
As Richards reported, Liverpool have been touted as potential suitors, with manager Jurgen Klopp having worked with, and brought the best out of, Gotze previously.
