Liverpool are once again being linked with a Bundesliga star, as manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly made contact with Schalke 04 about midfielder Max Meyer. Meanwhile, Leicester City youngster Ben Chilwell is said to be close to signing a new deal with the Foxes amid interest from the Reds.
According to German outlet Sport Bild (h/t Daily Star's Luke Gardener), Klopp has been following Meyer for a long time and became a fan while he was still in charge of Borussia Dortmund. The newspaper says Liverpool have now contacted Schalke, as Klopp wants to add the 20-year-old as a depth option and someone he can develop.
