Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly called off Lucas Leiva's move to Galatasaray after deciding to keep the midfielder at Anfield. Meanwhile, the Reds are closing in on a deal to sign former Barcelona left-back Juanma Garcia.
According to the Mirror's David Anderson, Gala were under the impression they had snatched the Brazilian from Merseyside, but sporting director Levent Nazifoglu confirmed the move is now off.
He said: "We are no longer pursuing Lucas Leiva. We will continue efforts to sign alternative names instead."
