Liverpool have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Napoli winger Dries Mertens after the Belgian admitted he would consider a switch to the Premier League.
According to the Daily Star's Chisanga Malata, Mertens told Dutch language newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws: "The Premier League would be a good challenge. I have a contract until 2018, but maybe other options will appear then."
The Belgian international racked up 10 goals and 12 assists in all competitions last season and already netted twice in this campaign, bagging a brace against Club Brugge in the Europa League on Thursday.
