Liverpool are preparing to make an improved offer (a 10m bid rejected last month) for Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne, according to reports from Liverpool Echo.
The 24-year-old has only a year left on his contract at St Mary’s and he has refused to sign a new deal at the club. The Saints have offered an extension to the deal but privately they are resigned to losing their defender.
Liverpool are looking to sign a right-back in the summer following the departure of Glen Johnson and see Clyne as a perfect replacement.
