Schalke president Clemens Tonnies has revealed that Max Meyer's contract talks are not progressing after the player's agent cancelled a meeting with the club.
This is good news for Liverpool who, according to the Mirror, are "keeping a close eye" on the midfielder whose current deal expires in the summer.
He has already rejected two offers of a new contract from Schalke, and Tonnies admitted renewed attempts to keep him at the club have not been successful, per German outlet Bild (via the Mirror): "I had an appointment with Max and his advisor, which was cancelled by his agent on short notice.
