The celebrations are continuing Wednesday for the United States women’s soccer team’s World Cup victory with a ticker-tape parade in Lower Manhattan. The team, which defeated the Netherlands, 2-0, on Sunday, is heading up the Canyon of Heroes, a stretch of Broadway from Battery Park to City Hall.
The parade is being televised on Fox Sports 2, ESPNU and on the ESPN app. It will be followed by a ceremony at City Hall at 10:30 hosted by Mayor Bill de Blasio.
The Canyon of Heroes has been used to celebrate many people and events, including the Apollo 11 astronauts and the completion of the Brooklyn Bridge.
