Teams are finally settling in after five weeks played in Liga MX. Club America is one of them as Ignacio Ambriz's side earned their first home win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Santos Laguna at the Estadio Azteca.
The game marked the return of Paul Aguilar from injury, and the CONCACAF Cup hero took no time in making himself feel present. With a nice piece of skill, Aguilar sent a cross for Oribe Peralta, who blasted a header home from close range to give America the lead.
Santos then rallied in the second half, but Las Aguilas manged to keep Luis Zubeldia's men at bay as Andres "Rifle" Andrade scored the 2-0 late on to seal it for the hosts.
