Pachuca’s Edwin Cardona was named Liga Bancomer MX Player of the Week for Jornada 10 by a poll of Liga MX English-language writers and broadcasters.
Cardona scored two goals in Los Tuzos’ 4-0 win on Saturday evening against Club Tijuana. This was his first brace in Liga MX since April 2017 when he scored twice as a part of Monterrey against Chiapas.
Pachuca were already up comfortably on Xolos early in the second half when Raul Lopez intercepted a ball which fell to Franco Jara. After three seperate defensive players from Tijuana all slipped to the ground, Jara connected with Cardona who cut inside before unleashing a near-post dagger past Gibran Lajud.
