Lewandowski picks perfect position for out-of-sorts Muller

The Polish striker believes his Germany international team-mate needs to play in a central role at Bayern Munich in order to find his best form

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski feels Thomas Muller's best position is as a support striker behind him.

Former Bayern star Lothar Matthaus suggested this week that Carlo Ancelotti has no room for the Germany international in his ideal formation following an underwhelming start to the season, sparking a debate over whether Muller still has a role to play at the Allianz Arena.

Ancelotti was quick to stress Muller will get plenty of playing time after the winter break, though, and Lewandowski hopes the versatile attacker will be playing right behind him.
