Liverpool crashed out of the Carabao Cup at the first hurdle as goals from Shinji Okazaki and Islam Slimani put Leicester City through 2-0 on Tuesday.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was in the Liverpool starting XI, as was Philippe Coutrinho, who danced through Leicester defenders and forced a diving save from Foxes keeper Ben Hamer.
Liverpool's Andrew Robertson then saw his cross run agonisingly through the six-yard box, but it was the hosts who took control in the second half.
Okazaki put Leicester ahead in the 65th minute following a corner when Vicente Iborra headed the ball down to the Japan international ,and his shot took a deflection off Robertson before finding the net.
