Miroslav Klose and Antonio Candreva gave Lazio a 2-0 win over Inter, which ends Roberto Mancini's hopes of securing a Champions League spot.
Inter's Champions League hopes were extinguished as it was beaten 2-0 by Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
Roberto Mancini's side needed a win to keep the pressure on third-place Roma in Serie A, but Miroslav Klose's eighth-minute goal set it back in the capital.
Inter turned on the style to put three goals past Udinese last time out but it was sluggish and short of ideas against Lazio, with Ivan Perisic and Stevan Jovetic coming closest to finding an equalizer.
