Mexico came back from a goal disadvantage to get a late goal and tie against Panama by a 1-1 score. With the tie, Mexico won first place of Group C as they had one less Yellow Card than Panama, after tying in goal differential and goals scored. Both teams suffered form terrible field conditions after it had copiously rained the day before, during the Group B matches played in that same stadium. Mexico will now face off against Costa Rica in the most important match, the Quarterfinal match that qualifies teams to the 2024 U20 World Cup while Panama will face off against Canada.
