In a disappointing match, Chivas got a late goal that gave them the 1-0 victory over Pumas. Chivas came into the match without a head coach after Oscar Garcia had announced he wouldn’t be coaching the team anymore after a number of firings done by the team and yet Interim Coach Pepe Menendez was able to get the first points for Chivas on the road in the Clausura 2025. Pumas also had a interim coach as Raul Alpizar took the helm while Pumas had new coach Efrain Juarez on the stands. Pumas will have a tough debut for Juarez when they face off against Alajuelense on Tuesday in the CONCACAF Champions cup before traveling to Puebla on Friday while Chivas will have their first off three Superclasicos against America at home in the first leg of their CONCACAF Series.
