The legendary full-back moved joint-eighth in Die Roten's list of all-time top appearance holders after reaching the landmark on Saturday
Philipp Lahm made his 500th career appearance for Bayern Munich in their clash against Schalke on Saturday, moving him level with Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The club captain started the clash at Allianz Arena from the bench and was introduced in the 77th minute to a hero's welcome.
Lahm played his first game for the Bavarians 5197 days ago, in November 2002, during a 3-3 draw against Lens in the Champions League.
The legendary full-back came on a substitute in the 92nd minute in that game, with Schweinsteiger also making his debut in the same match.
