The Liga match between FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid, scheduled for December 22, will not take place in Miami. Despite La Liga’s efforts to host a game in the U.S., the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has reversed its approach and the game will not be allowed to take place, according to the latest reports.
Previously, the RFEF had consulted Spain’s Higher Sports Council (CSD) regarding the game’s relocation from Spain to the United States, with the decision ultimately falling to the RFEF’s interim governing body following Luis Rubiales’ resignation. However, given the current transitional state within the RFEF, they, along with La Liga, have decided against using an international venue, although La Liga still aims to host a game abroad in the future.
