Deportivo La Coruna climbed out of the relegation zone thanks to an emphatic 5-1 win over sixth-placed Real Sociedad at Estadio Riazor on Monday.
It was only Depor's third win of the Liga season and came as something of a surprise against a La Real side who had won five of their last six matches in all competitions.
The hosts went 3-0 ahead in the first 45 minutes, Sidnei netting the opener before Inigo Martinez turned into his own net and Florin Andone finished an excellent Depor move.
Yuri Berchiche's fine goal early in the second half gave La Real a sniff of a potential comeback, but Ryan Babel turned home the rebound from his own penalty with 26 minutes remaining, and Andone added a fifth to wrap up the points.
