Vicente Iborra's late goal helped Sevilla go second in La Liga and level on points with leaders Real Madrid. Iborra struck 14 minutes from time to beat Real Betis 2-1 in the Seville derby at the Estadio Benito Villamarin on Saturday.
The result meant Sevilla leapfrogged Barcelona into second, with the latter set to play fourth-placed Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon Stadium on Sunday—part of a huge weekend in La Liga's title race.
Sevilla's win also added weight to the club's status as credible title challengers. It means Sevilla have now won as many matches as leaders Real, who have two games in hand, including Sunday's trip to El Madrigal to face a tough Villarreal side.
